In January of 2008, I met with the veterans from Hackensack at the Crows Nest Restaurant on Route 17.  They invited me to a dinner and wanted to thank me for the work I had done on the Veteran Wall Unit. 

After dinner, Louis F. Salvadeo filled out a veteran form on his military service.  A lifetime Hackensack resident, he attended Hackensack High School until the 10th grade
in 1949. 

Two years later, in 1951, Louis F. Salvadeo was serving in the Navy off the coast of Korea during the Korean War.  Louis F. Salvadeo was a Seaman from 1951 to 1956 when he was
honorably discharged.
